THE INVERTED DOUBLE

R L L R R L L R

I was in Michigan one afternoon when I received a call from someone frustrated with his drum teacher and looking for someone new.  Rick and I talked for almost 30 minutes that morning and I felt like I'd known him forever.  We began studying together and over the next few years became pretty good friends.  I knew he was a "survivor" and his battle, joy for life and passion for the drums inspired me.  When he bought his dream drum set, he surprised me by donating his Electronic kit to my students at EddieOnDrums. At first I refused, because he could have sold them and made some money, but he insisted.

Rick lost his battle with Cancer On March 1st of 2022.  He was a terrific friend, student and I miss him terribly.  We had a lot of unfinished drumming to do.
